After last weeks tough encounter against the Ladies 1st XI, the Whites were back in action and back to their confident best against a Bedmond Ladies team, mid table in the league below, and normal service was duly resumed.

After dominating the early exchanges, it was a surprise that it took as long as 15 minutes for the Whites to open the scoring, when an excellent Ellen Salter cross was hit on the half volley by Pru with an unstoppable shot.

On 24 minutes Anna Novelli demonstrated her usual tenacity to force an opening and run the ball in from close range for a 2 nil lead, before Leigh Burrows laid the ball off to Ellen Salter to score her 1st of the match.

With the Whites dominating proceedings it was a formality that more goals would follow and Ellen once more played Pru through on goal and whilst the goalkeeper made a greta save from the initial shot, Pru was calm enough to slot home the loose ball. Ellen duly wrapped up the 1st half with a stunning strike from the left hand side of the penalty bos on 44 minutes for a 5 nil lead at half time.

The second half began with Bedmond immediately of the back foot and a thunder shot from Leigh Burrows within a minute of the restart to extend the lead to 6 nil.

On 52 minutes Leigh was tripped in the box and Ellen Salter stepped up to fire into the bottom left hand corner for a well deserved hattrick. Four minutes later Bedmonds high defensive line was exposed and Anna Novelli ran the length of the Bedmond half before rounding the keeper to score her second of the match.

The remainder of the half saw the game peter out to an extent and it wasn't until the 87th minute that the rout was complete when a superb long chipped shot from Emily Pimlott from the right hand side found the far left hand corner of the goal from over 25 yards out.

An excellent performance from the Whites, with Ellen Salter having a sensational game and being rewarded with player of the match. Thanks to both Laura and Jess for putting on the gloves and particular mention for a 2 handed cat like save from Jess in the 2nd half to keep the clean sheet!
