A depleted Leverstock Green Ladies won another three valuable points on Sunday, elevating them to second in the Eastern Region Premier League, 6 points behind league leaders Lowestoft with 3 games in hand. Sally Green got Levy off to the perfect start with 12 minutes on the clock following a strong start from the home side. Nic Hollick doubled the lead on 25 minutes latching on to loose back pass, before coolly dispatching beyond a helpless Colchester keeper.

Sapphire Kalinski marked her return to the side with another well worked goal. Left back Lucy Tape fired in a corner, which was partly cleared but only as far as Tape who lofted it back into the box where Natalie Burrows rose highest and nodded it to the feet of Kalinski who slotted home.

At 3-0 it looked as if Levy would cruise home but a back injury to Tape followed almost immediately by a PCL knee injury to player of the match Green, meant Levy had to play the final 30 minutes with just 10 players. Levy showed remarkable resolve and discipline to see out the game without conceding a goal and deserved the three points and the win.

Levy travel to Bedford on Thursday evening, knowing another win will significantly increase their chances of winning the league at their first attempt.
