Match Report
Sunday 7th December 2014 League Cup 1st Round
Leverstock Green Ladies (0) 1 Hayhoe
Billericay Town (0) 2
at Pancake Lane

Report by Scott Isaacs

Leverstock Ladies were knocked out of the Eastern Region Premier League Cup on Sunday by a strong Billericay side. Prior to the game, both sides posed for a commemorative photo to recreate the spirit of the Christmas truce football matches of 1914.

The first half was a cagey affair with both sides creating chances but failing to capitalise. Levy keeper Haidee Cable was outstanding pulling off a series of saves to keep Levy in the match. After the break, Billericay found a way through after the ball was parried in the box by Cable. Shortly afterwards, Billericay extended their lead when a mix up between keeper and centre back resulted in a two goal lead for the visitors.

Levy snatched a goal back in the dying minutes of the game through Lisa Hayhoe but unfortunately time was not on Levy's side and after two further minutes of play the game was over.

Levy's next match is in the County Cup quarter finals Sunday 14th December but their opponents and the venue remain a mystery.
