Leverstock Green's reserves came very close to extending their winning league run to four games, but were denied by a stoppage time penalty. This was a very competitive game with plenty of chances for both sides.

Louis Bircham, one of a couple of first team regulars given a run out today, had two of the early chances for Leverstock. In the 10th minute Aylesbury defender Tom Keen took too long clearing the ball from his own box, presenting a chance to Bircham but his shot was blocked. In the 21st minute a through ball from Reece Cameron put Bircham through, but keeper Lee Parrack turned his shot wide.

A minute later at the other end Melvy N'Somi had a great chance for the visitors, but Green keeper Callum Woods turned his shot round the post. On 26 minutes N'Somi had another chance but headed over the bar from a couple of yards out.

Three minutes into the second half Aylesbury should have had a penalty when a fairly blatant push by Jack Gilmartin went unpunished. Two minutes later Miles Cash had a clear shooting chance for Leverstock, but fired over the bar.

Leverstock had the ball in the net on 67 minutes when Alfie Boswell slid in to take the ball out of Parrack's hands as he was trying to claim it, but the referee adjudged that Parrack had been in control of the ball and disallowed the goal.

Leverstock finally had the chance to take the lead in the 81st minute when Cameron was knocked over inside the box, and John Smith put the penalty away for a 1-0 lead.

It looked as though the Green side were set to hang on for the points, but in the first minutes of stoppage time Aylesbury were awarded a penalty for a trip just inside the box, and Vinny Greco levelled the scores from the spot.

Leverstock will feel they should have taken all three points, but it was a good team performance by Paul Hunt's side, with skipper Lee Waryszniuk among the impressive performances at the back.
