Late goals rescue a draw at Bushey

Leverstock Green scored two late goals to avoid defeat in their second pre-season friendly at Met Police Bushey.

The Herts County League side played the better football on the night, and might have had a lead before half time with better finishing. Leverstock's best effort of a very wet first half was a long-range shot from Ben Butler which flew just over the bar.

The home side continued to play well early in the second half, and finally got a deserved goal on 61 minutes with a well-worked move. Their lead was doubled on 69 minutes as Green defended a free kick poorly.

However, Leverstock eventually played their way back into the match. On 79 minutes a ball forward from Bekim Culaj found Jon Davies inside the box, and Davies skilfully nutmegged a defender before slotting home from a narrow angle to pull a goal back.

Davies was also heavily involved in Green's 88th minute equaliser, as he made a good run down the left before squaring for Glenn Thompson to shoot home from six yards.

Next up for Leverstock is a trip to Northampton Spencer on Saturday.
