There was another excellent performance by Steve Benitez's side in Thursday night's pre-season friendly at home to Hendon. Paul Insley put the Green in front in the 17th minute, but the Ryman League Premier Division side equalised after 30 minutes when Bradley Wadkins headed home the rebound after a header had been tipped onto the bar.

The Leverstock display deserved at least a draw, but it was Hendon who took the win when Sergio Manusio went clean through to score on 72 minutes.

Leverstock are at home on Saturday in the first round of the Herts Charity Shield to Welwyn Garden City, now managed by former Hertford Town boss Scott O'Donoghue.
