Aylesbury Tournament (6-a-side)

After the recent back to back tournament wins, 3 in a row was always going to be a difficult task ..... but the Levy Green Ladies (U18s) were up to the challenge as always as they brought yet more silverware back to the club.

This was a 4 team tournament, with each team playing each other twice, to establish a pecking order for the semi-final play offs. After a tight nil, nil draw in the opening match, Levy got things going with a 2 nil win in the 2nd match, with Cally Salter scoring twice against Aylesbury Town Whites. The 2nd phase saw Levy encounter their most difficult opponents, Garston Ladies - and after drawing the 1st match with a stunning Ellen Salter volley, they narrowly lost the 2nd match 1 nil after some indecision at the back. The 3rd phase saw two comfortable wins against Aylesbury Town Blues with Pru, Cally, Chloe & Leigh on the score sheet as 7 goals were scored without reply over the 2 games.

These results were enough to secure 2nd spot in the league phase and having drawn Aylesbury Whites in the semi final the game was a more comfortable affair with Ellen and Cally scoring to secure a 2 nil win.

The final saw Levy meet Garston Ladies once more, and after conceding an early goal, it took a piece of individual skill from Cally Salter to level the match and take the game to extra time. The two teams could not be separated and penalties followed and after Levy missed the first penalty Emma Wiseman was the hero of the hour when she made 2 excellent saves which combined with fine penalties from Chloe, Ellen, Leigh & Cally were enough to secure the Green Army's 3rd successive summer tournament win.

The girls now face a tough 11 a side challenge match against Luton Town Ladies next weekend in a game billed as the "Champions of Hertfordshire versus the Champions of Bedfordshire".
